The Chile 2019 and Antarctica 2018 expeditions were a twenty-one total day sea kayaking, hiking and camping trip on the Antarctic Peninsula and in Patagonia, Chile from late December 2018 to mid January 2019.
The trip included six days of sea kayaking around the Antarctic Peninsula, four days of kayaking on fjords and rivers near Torres del Paine National Park, and several days of hiking including on Grey Glacier.
The six person team was comprised of Georgia Tech students and alumni. They traveled between locations by plane, boat and bus. The total paddling distance was around 160 miles. Average temperatures were 35°F to 50°F (-2°C to 10°C).
